Hello, beautiful people, and Happy End of Your Week! I hope you are enjoying some nice time with Mama Nature as she dazzles us with her fall show. In Denver, we got our first taste of cold weather, at least that I’ve been here for. It’s been nice, putting on a sweater and feeling heat come out of the vent. Very cozy.
Well, the election is on probably almost everyone’s minds these days. Today’s post is an attempt to provide some grounding, some sense that no matter how it comes out, we – together – will be OK. Let’s soak in some Inspo and then reflect on our capacities for surviving and thriving together.
Today’s Inspiration: We all need to see the good that is constantly happening in our world, so we have a round-up of inspiring stories from the KarunaNews website. The links take you to a short summary and offer the option to read the entire story.

Well, people on both ends of the political spectrum are concerned, maybe bordering on anxious or even panicked about what will happen in next week’s election.
I have my moments, but overall am trying to stay grounded, more plugged into Mama Nature than any news station or website. Any articles about polling results are strictly off-limits for me right now because I’m sure they’re all hyped up to get me hyped up. I’m trying to choose no hype, no drama. It’s a choice I have (or get) to keep making when I temporarily get wound up.
A while back, I read an article that said that throughout human history, people have frequently thought that the end of the world, or the end of their civilization, was just around the corner. It eased my mind, because, well, we’re still here. Aren’t we?
Humans have survived through some incredible challenges. Wars, plagues, nuclear disasters, and more. In times of crisis, we are often brought together with people we previously distrusted by our care and concern for each other. That’s the silver lining of the severe weather events that keep happening – people coming together across difference to rebuild communities.
If we can keep seeing the humanity in each other, we WILL be OK. So, that’s my challenge to you. Keep reminding yourself, no matter your political beliefs, that we humans keep evolving as long as love prevails.
I intend to hug my neighbor, who I love dearly and who will undoubtedly vote differently than me, on election day. We are hosting our “Not Watching the Election” party and inviting neighbors to come together in community, as I’ve talked about before. My choice, no matter who wins the election, is to keep building community and making sure love prevails.
Take Action:
Take a few minutes to think about small ways you can promote coming together across differences. Better yet, get a few people in your household to do it with you. Make a big list and pick a few ideas that are fun to implement.
Then, Just Do It! Build community in whatever way you choose. Really, just do something to strengthen the ties that hold us - all of us - together.
